We can follow these steps for make a circle in After Effects,

1. After creating a new composition, we can go to Rectangle Tool Icon, click and hold, then choose Ellipse Tool

2. Click and Drop on composition to make a ellipse shape

3. Press shortcut Shift, to make ellipse shape to be perfect circle
