Quick tutorial video shows how to break an object into pieces by using free addon, Cell Fracture. We can free download and install Cell Fracture in Blender. After installing, we can add a 3D object, and apply Cell Fracture setting into 3D object. Furthermore, if we can make an animation that shows the motion of breaking, we can add Active Rigid Body to pieces of object, and add one more object as a passive Rigid Body. Blender cell fracture tutorial for breaking an object into pieces
We can follow below steps to break object into pieces using Cell Fracture addon in Blender.
1. Go to Edit > Preferences, select Get Extensions, and search Cell Fracture
2. Install Cell Fracture
3. Go back to 3D scene and add a 3D object
4. Select the object, and go to Object > Quick Effects, and choose Cell Fracture
5. In Point Source, we can set noise to 1
6. In Recursive Shatter, we can set Recursion to 1, and set Random Factor to 0.5
7. Press ok, then the object is broken into pieces
