How to add shape in After Effects

AE tutorial video show how to add shape in After Effects. In After Effects, we can use shortcut Q to use shape tool. We can use shape tool to draw a rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, polygon, and star shape. We will go through how to add shape layer in this video. How to add shape in After Effects

We can follow these steps to add shape in After Effects, to make a circle in this example,

1. After creating a composition, we can press shortcut Q to use shape tool

2. Alternatively, we can click and hold the Shape Tool Icon to choose the shape, e.g. Ellipse Tool

3. Click on drag on composition, to draw a ellipse

4. Press Shift before releasing mouse button to make a perfect circle
