Below are the steps for Photoshop to After Effects workflow for importing PSD layers for motion graphics.

1. Save Photoshop layer file as PSD file format using Photoshop

2. Open After Effects, And go to File > Import > File

3. Choose the PSD file in step 1

4. Import Kind window in popped up. For import kind, we choose Composition – Retain Layer Sizes

5. Make sure that Editable Layer Styles is chosen in Layer Option

6. Click okay. Then we can find the Photoshop layers in After Effects project panel
