How to create Shadow and Reflection under Object in Photoshop

For product photograph, we always require further photo editing for a product shot. Adding a shadow and reflection under an object is common way to make the image looks more attractive and more realistic. In this tutorial video, we will go through how to create shadow and reflection under an object in Adobe Photoshop. We will use layer style to add a drop shadow, and use mirror effect to make reflection under the object. Steps are east to follow for Photoshop beginners. I hope this helps. How to create Shadow and Reflection under Object in Photoshop

How to create shadow under object in Photoshop

1. Open a image with an Object
2. Remove background to make the image to be transparent background
3. Duplicate Object layer
4. Rename new layer to be Shadow, and put this layer under the Object layer 
5. Open the layer style for Shadow layer
6. Activate Drop Shadow, and adjust the drop shadow settings
7. Add a mask to Shadow Layer
8. Brush White color for make shadow visible ,  as black color is hidden the shadow

How to create reflection under object in Photoshop

1. Open a image with an Object
2. Remove background to make the image to be transparent background
3. Duplicate Object layer
4. Rename new layer to be Reflection, and put this layer under the Object layer 
5. Select Reflection Layer, and go to Edit > Transform, choose Flip Vertical
6. Move down the Reflection Layer to match the reflection position of Object Layer
7. Add a mask to Reflection Layer and fill will gradient
8. Add the opacity of Reflection Layer
