How to export QuickTime with RGB + Alpha in After Effects
To export a QuickTime video with RGB and alpha channel in After Effects, we can follow these steps:
1. Composition Setup:
Create or open your composition in After Effects.
Ensure that the elements you want to export have a transparent background (which is for alpha channel).
2. Add to Render Queue:
Go to the Composition menu and select Add to Render Queue.
In the Render Queue panel, click on the Output Module setting.
3. Output Module Settings:
Set the Format to QuickTime.
Under the Channels dropdown, choose RGB + Alpha.
This step is crucial; without it, After Effects won’t export an alpha channel in the QuickTime file.
4. Destination and Render:
Set the destination path for your exported file.
Click Render to start the export process.
If in steps 3, the output module setting for QuickTime RGB + Alpha greyed out, we can try this steps to solve it.
