Quick video to show how to mirror object in Blender using Mirror Modifier. In this tutorial video, we will use Monkey Suzanne for example to add Mirror Modifier to mirror object across axis. The original mirror point of Mirror Modifier is Object Origin, but we can change mirror point by setting Mirror Object. Therefore, we can be easy to change the mirror distance, and make offset of mirrored object. Finally, we can apply this mirror modifier and then separate the mirrored object into 2 pieces. Steps are easy to follow, hope this helps.
