How to fade in and fade out in After Effects

After Effects tutorial shows how to make fade in and fade out in After Effects with using opacity transition. How to fade in and fade out in After Effects

Steps to create a fade in and fade out effect in After Effects:

1. Open After Effects and import your video.
2. Select the layer you want to fade in and press T on the keyboard.
3. Move the Current Time Indicator to the start of the frame and click on the stopwatch to set a keyframe.
4. Set the opacity to 0%.
5. Move the Current Time indicator to where you want the fade-in effect to end.
6. Set the opacity to 100%.

To fade out, move the Current Time Indicator to where you want the fade-out to start.
7. Create a new keyframe by clicking on the diamond.
8. Move the Current Time Indicator to where you want the fade-out to end and the layer to disappear completely.
9 Set the opacity to 0%.
