How to add grain in Photoshop 

Photoshop photo editing tutorial shows how to add grain in Photoshop. We can use Photoshop to add grain effect into a photo. In this tutorial, we will go through how to use Noise Filter to add grain effect to a photo. We can make grain layer and change this layer to overlay in blending mode. How to add grain in Photoshop 

We can follow these steps to add grain effect to photo in Photoshop,

1. Import an image

2. Create a new layer on top of image layer in steps 1

3. Select the new layer and press shortcut Shift+F5to open Fill window

4. Fill color to 50% Grey

5. Select the layer and right click to Convert to Smart Object

6. Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise , adjust the Noise settings to get the Grain Effect

7. Change blending mode to overlay for the Noise Layer in step 6
