How to move object by using Gizmos
1. As per screenshot, we have an object Cube, we can select this object,
2. Click the Move Icon on the left hand side tool bar to show the Gizmos in the middle of object, which Gizmos contain Arrows and the Squares.
3. If we click and drag the Arrow Head, we can move the object along the axis ; if we click and drag the square, we can move the object along the plane.
How to move object by using Shortcut
1. If we’d like to move object using Shortcut, we can select the object, Hit Shortcut G, then move the mouse, the object is then moved freely.
2. If we’d like to move object along axis, let say move it along X axis, we can Hit Shortcut G and then Hit X, then the object is moved along the X axis only. In addition, if we hit Shortcut G + Y, we can move it along Y axis ; if we hit Shortcut G + Z, we can move the object along Z axis.
3. Moreover, if we move object Hit Shortcut G and then Hit Shift X, we can lock the X axis movement, in other words, we can move object on YZ plane. Same theory, if we Hit G + Shift Y, we can move object and lock the Y axis movement ; if we Hit G + Shift Z, we can move object and lock the Z axis movement.
