How to reset Maya Preferences to default settings
Solution:
1. Open Windows -> Settings/Preferences
2. Close Maya
3. Remove all preferences that locate the following directory:
Windows: <drive>:\Documents\maya\<version>\
Mac OS X: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/<version>/
Linux: /home/<username>/maya/<version>/
4. Restart Maya.
5. Done.
